AYSO is a volunteer organization. In our region we have the following volunteer
categories:
- Team Volunteers
- league volunteers
- referees
- regional board.
Most parents start off as team volunteers performing tasks like those listed below.
Many decide to take a more active role in the region and volunteer to participate
on the regional board or as a referee. Without the participation of parents this
organization would cease to exist.
Volunteer Screening Program
All people 18 years or older, who wish to serve as Board Members, coaches, assistant
coaches, referees, or assistant referees shall be subject to review of their criminal
record in accordance with Section 11105.3 of the California Penal Code.
Any person meeting the criteria specified in California Penal Code 11105.3 shall be
denied volunteer status. These include sex crimes, drug crimes, or crimes of violence.
All such information, including even the fact that there has been a positive finding,
will be kept strictly confidential.
eAYSO Volunteer Registration Process
Beginning in 2006, we implemented the AYSO National secure online registration system
called eAYSO. You will fill out the online form, including social security number (SSN),
driver's license, and references. To your benefit, your SSN and driver's license go
directly to the National organization and will merely appear as xxx-xx-xxxx and (first
4 digits)xxxx respectively on your printed forms.
At registration, we will simply verify your license number by the first 4 digits and you
will be on your way. You must be present for this process. Your volunteer registration
can only be accepted and completed if submitted by you. Remember, volunteers are not
covered by AYSO insurance if they are not registered and screened.
There are three easy steps:
- Pre-register at eAYSO.com.
- Print 2 copies of your volunteer form and sign them.
- Bring both copies and your driver's license (for verification) to registration
If you have any questions or need assistance with eAYSO, please call Alison or Bailey at
(866) 588-2976 or come to registration with your professional, volunteer and personal
references, and we can guide you through the process.
Thank you!
