Fall Season 2015

Registration for Fall Season will open May 1st.
The season will run from Sept. 12th - Nov 14th.

For divisions U6 and up the registration cost is $130, and includes:

  • Jersey and Socks
  • Photo
  • Trophy/Medal
  • AYSO Insurance

The U5 division is a different format and includes a ball rather than a uniform. The registration fee for U5 is $100.

Refund Policy

Should a player need to withdraw from the Fall Season, the refund offered will depend on when the request is received, as follows:

  • Prior to July 18th: Full refund
  • During team formation, but prior to first game of the season: Partial refund ($75)
  • After the season begins: No refund

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing (email) directly to the treasurer or registrar

Buddy Requests

Sunnyvale AYSO has updated the buddy request policy. We understand children like to play with their friends, but Balanced Teams is one of our core philosophies, and buddy requests can not interfere with that. The new policy is as follows:

  • Players may request one (1) buddy
  • Buddies must be mutually requested
  • Any request not meeting these requirements will be disregarded

Buddy requests can almost always be accommodated in the lower divisions (up to U8). However as the players get older, skill levels increase and the number of teams decreases, so sometimes we will not be able to honor a request. Also, every player gets only one request, no additional buddy placements will be made for medical reasons. If your child has special needs please note it in the medical section of their registration.

In order to make a buddy request, please enter the buddy's name (first and last) in the sibling box of the registration form, or email the registrar with your request.

Division Assignment

Players are generally assigned to a division based on their age. Children may play in a higher division than is usual for their age, but never lower. If you would like to request that your child play up please notify the registrar when you submit your registration. Please note that requests to be moved up a division are on a space-available basis - players may be moved back to their age group if the higher division fills up.

Guidelines for placement are as follows:

Division Typical Age Typical Grades Birthdate Range
U05 4 PreK 8/1/10 - 1/31/12
U06 5 K 8/1/09 - 7/31/10
U07* 6 1 8/1/08 - 7/31/09
U08 7 2 8/1/07 - 7/31/08
U10 8-9 3-4 8/1/05 - 7/31/07
U12 10-11 5-6 8/1/03 - 7/31/05
U14 12-13 7-8 8/1/01 - 7/31/03
U16 14-15 9-10 8/1/99 - 7/31/01
U19 16-18 11-12 8/1/96 - 7/31/99

*due to number of players U07 is boys only, girls in this age range play U08

Since AYSO is an all volunteer organization, it is imperative that every family volunteers in some capacity. It takes between 400-500 volunteers to run our region each year. We therefore give priority to those who volunteer.

If we are short on coaches we are forced to put players on the waiting list. Children are given priority to be placed on teams by the following criteria:

  1. Children of those who volunteer to coach, referee or serve on the regional board
  2. Children of those that volunteer for regional support positions (e.g. registration worker, field stripers, uniforms, equipment. These do not include the team volunteer positions, e.g. snacks, club linesman, banner, party organizer, team picture coordinator.)
  3. Non-volunteers that registered before team formation begins (Feb 1st)
  4. Non-volunteers that registered late (after team formation begins.)

Sunnyvale AYSO provides training for coaches, referees, and board members at no cost to the volunteer (except your time!) This training is among the best available from any youth sports organization and AYSO's coach training is accredited by the NCACE. Please see the Volunteers page for details on how to register as a volunteer, or contact the Regional Commissioner about regional needs.

Registration Process

  1. Complete the online player registration at WebYouthSoccer (WYS - not eAYSO!)
    1. Specify your player's buddy requests in the sibling box, if applicable
    2. Specify your volunteer preferences in WYS, so we can match your volunteer role with your player's team. (Check the Volunteers page to see if additional registration is required for your chosen role!)
  2. Print forms and sign where indicated.

Completing Your Registration

Your child will not be placed on a team until their registration is completed. To complete the registration the following items must be submitted to the registrar:
